Old people are scary. Thank goodness none of us will become one. Lionsgate has dropped a new trailer for American Carnage, a new horror comedy thriller starring Jorge Lendeborg Jr. and Jenna Ortega.
Directed by Diego Hallivis, who also co-wrote the script with Julio Hallivis, American Carnage follows several children of undocumented immigrants who find themselves detained due to a new executive order. However, they’re offered the opportunity to have their charges dropped if they volunteer at an eldercare facility. Once there… well, I’m not really sure what the hell’s going on, but it’s not good as there seems to be some spooky shit going on. In addition to Jorge Lendeborg Jr. and Jenna Ortega, American Carnage also stars Allen Maldonado, Bella Ortiz, Jorge Diaz, Yumarie Morales, Catherine McCafferty, Brett Cullen, Eric Dane.
Jenna Ortega has made quite the name for herself in the horror community. This year alone, Ortega has appeared in Scream, Studio 666, and X. She’s also set to reprise her Scream role for the sixth film, which is currently shooting and slated to be released on March 31, 2023. The sequel will follow the four survivors of the Ghostface killings as they leave Woodsboro behind and start a fresh chapter. Good luck with that.
The official synopsis for American Carnage:
After a governor issues an executive order to arrest the children of undocumented immigrants, the newly detained youth are offered an opportunity to have their charges dropped by volunteering to provide care to the elderly. Once inside the eldercare facility, the volunteers discover the governor and the facility’s supervisor have cooked up a horrifyingly depraved conspiracy that endangers the young and the old in this twisted thriller-comedy.
American Carnage is currently playing in select theaters and available On Demand. What did you think of the American Carnage trailer? Will you be checking the film out?
