As you can see from the banner above, AMC has finally nailed down a date to debut Preacher. On May 22nd, audiences will get a chance to witness the story of Jesse Custer, a preacher in the small Texas town of Annville who is accidentally possessed by the supernatural creature named Genesis in an incident which killed his entire congregation and flattened his church. Genesis, the product of the unauthorized, unnatural coupling of an angel and a demon, is an infant with no sense of individual will. However, as it is composed of both pure goodness and pure evil, it might have enough power to rival that of God Himself. In other words, Jesse Custer, bonded to Genesis, may have become the most powerful being in the universe. I’d say that warrants a look, but AMC has released some promotional art to get you in the Texas mood!
I'm not familiar with the comic of the same name, so I don’t know if these promo pics say anything particularly special. For those of you at SXSW, you can get a much larger look when it screens at 2:45. The rest of us will just have to wait a couple of months to see how it turns out. Here's hoping that they did some good over at AMC!
Preacher will hit May 22nd on AMC.
