AMC scares up new NOS4A2 trailer and release date

NOS4A2 is one of my very favorite books by one of my very favorite authors, Mr. Joe Hill. It's an epic story that spans the entire lifetime of one Vic McQueen, a.k.a. the Brat, and her arch nemesis Charlie Manx. Both Vic and Charlie share a secret power — an ability to use their vehicle of choice to transport them anywhere in the world they want to go. The only thing is, Mr. Manx wants to go to Christmasland, and he wants to take young little Vic with him. See, whereas Vic uses her bike to transport herself to various locations in the hopes of escaping the chaos of her parents' constant bickering, Charlie is a fan of chaos. He uses his old Rolls Royce to take kids to a faraway land, where they arrive a little differently than the way they left. Inevitably, Manx crosses paths with The Brat, and that's when the real trouble begins.

As a fan of the novel, I'm overjoyed for Joe Hill and all of the success he's garnered over the years. The iconic author initially made a name for himself on his own, shedding the last name of "King" in the hopes of proving his worth in a less nepotistic manner. Of course, the truth about his being the son of Stephen King came out eventually, but not before he had left his mark on the world. Now, Hill is a bestselling author, his 'Horns' novel was adapted into a film starring Daniel Radcliffe, and now, his hit book NOS4A2 is being turned into what will hopefully be a hit TV show on AMC.

Hill and co. dropped a brand new trailer at WonderCon over the weekend ahead of the show's June 2nd release date.

Here's the official synopsis for the series: “Based on Hill’s 2013 best-selling novel of the same name, NOS4A2 follows Vic McQueen, played by Cummings (THE GOLDFINCH), a gifted young woman who discovers she has a supernatural ability to find lost things. This ability puts her on a collision course with the evil and immortal Charlie Manx, played by Emmy-nominee Quinto (STAR TREK). Manx is a supernatural villain who feeds off the souls of children then deposits what remains of them into Christmasland — a twisted place of Manx’s imagination where every day is Christmas Day and unhappiness is against the law. Vic strives to defeat Manx and rescue his victims – without losing her mind or falling victim to him herself.”

Personally, I don't see Zachary Quinto being a very good Charlie Manx, but that's just my humble opinion. When I read the book, I pictured someone more along the lines of Doug Jones in my head, so I can't really see why Quinto would be cast for any other reason than he would be the more profitable choice. But hey, who knows? I might be wrong. I guess we'll have to tune in and see. I will say that I loved Ashleigh Cummings in HOUNDS OF LOVE, which is a spectacular film that you should check out immediately if you haven't done so already.
