AMC releases full-length Preacher season 2 trailer

Now, like I said, I was overall impressed with Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg‘s take on Garth Ennis’ groundbreaking graphic novel PREACHER for AMC. I had my misgivings, and the idea of setting the whole season in one town had its obvious drawbacks,
but I think the adaptation got at least the essence of the story, if not every detail. We’ll see how well they keep that up with the second season.

Speaking of which, AMC has just dropped their full-length trailer for it, so let’s take a look, shall we?

Holy shit, Herr Starr was there for a sec! And the Saint of Killer is actually doing something! I’m also definitely glad they’re keeping the whole “God left Heaven” subplot (which is of course the main hook of the book, but adaptations have missed the point harder before). So that’s all pretty cool. However, there are a few sticking points. One, was that Hitler hanging out with Arseface? That seems a little on the nose, even for this show. And the whole “love triangle” aspect of the story seems much more forced in this version (there were a lot more extenuating circumstances in the original). But I’ll wait to see it before I pass judgement.

So what do you Schmoes think? Any of you watching the show? And if so, you like what you see? Either way, sound off below!

Meanwhile, PREACHER season 2 will premiere by the lack of God’s graces June 25th.
