If you plan on seeing STAR WARS: EPISODE I THE PHANTOM MENACE 3D when it hits theaters on February 10th, you might want to make your way to an AMC theater. They’ve got special goodies lined up for suckers- excuse me- fans of the film.
Anyone who buys a ticket from the theater chain opening weekend will received a Hasbro Star Wars Fighter Pod, but there are ten theaters that have special events planned for a whole day of STAR WARS. In these theaters you can expect to see Lego play areas, Darth Maul face-painting, character experiences and demos of the upcoming KINECT STAR WARS game, on top of that Fighter Pog. Perhaps best of all are these podracing glasses, which are of course 3D glasses that you can take home.
These are the theaters doing the whole shebang-
Atlanta: AMC Southlake 24
Boston: AMC Loews Liberty Tree Mall 20
Chicago: AMC South Barrington 30
Denver: AMC Highlands Ranch 24
Los Angeles: AMC Tustin 14 at The District; AMC Ontario Mills 30
New York: AMC Empire 25; AMC Garden State 16
Phoenix: AMC Mesa Grand 24
San Francisco: AMC Emeryville Bay Street 16
I’m fully expecting to do a lot of headshaking after we see how much money this movie makes, even with the benefit of foresight. And to be fair, the trailer does make the movie look far more exciting than it really is, but are people really looking forward to seeing this in theaters agin? Do you expect to take your kids? Sound off below. I’m genuinely curious!
