Alita: Battle Angel lands MPAA rating

This Valentine's Day we will all be hit with director Robert Rodriguez's ALITA: BATTLE ANGEL. The movie is written and produced by none other than Mr. James Cameron (THE TERMINATOR, T2: JUDGEMENT DAY) and stars such Hollywood heavy-hitters as Christoph Waltz (INGLOURIOUS BASTERDS, DJANGO UNCHAINED), Jennifer Connelly (PHENOMENA, REQUIEM FOR A DREAM), Mahershala Ali (the third season of TRUE DETECTIVE, MOONLIGHT), Ed Skrein (DEADPOOL), and Jackie Earle Haley (A NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET).

And if you were wondering just how much carnage we can expect to see once the Battle Angel is unleashed, I'd advise you to keep your expectations in check as today the MPAA has given the movie a PG-13 rating for "sequences of sci-fi violence and action, and for some language." Which I guess is about the rating – and the rating reasons – most people expected. Do you even care about MPAA ratings anymore? Let us know below!

Here's the synopsis for those of you that might not know:

Set several centuries in the future, the abandoned Alita is found in the scrapyard of Iron City by Ido, a compassionate cyber-doctor who takes the unconscious cyborg Alita to his clinic. When Alita awakens, she has no memory of who she is, nor does she have any recognition of the world she finds herself in. As Alita learns to navigate her new life and the treacherous streets of Iron City, Ido tries to shield her from her mysterious past.
