If you're still hungry for more from the world of Altered Carbon following the release of the second season, well, Netflix has your back with ALTERED CARBON: RESLEEVED, an upcoming anime adaptation of the series which will expand the franchise even further. Netflix has released a brutal trailer for the animated film, which follows Takeshi Kovacs, who seems to be occupying a new sleeve once again, as he protects a young tattoo artist while also investigating the death of a yakuza boss alongside a tough-as-nails CTAC agent. ALTERED CARBON: RESLEEVED was written by Cowboy Bebop writer Dai Sato and Tsukasa Kondo, directed by Jo Nakajima, and produced by Anima.
Although it was far from perfect, I found myself quite enjoying the world of Altered Carbon throughout its first season. I haven't yet had time to catch the second season, but from the sounds of things, it seems to improve on what came before.
The official synopsis for ALTERED CARBON: RESLEEVED:
On Planet Latimer, everything is temporary, but honor is forever. Takeshi Kovacs must protect a tattooist while investigating the death of a yakuza boss alongside a no-nonsense CTAC. From the creative mind behind Cowboy Bebop, explore the expanded universe of “Altered Carbon” in this anime adaptation.
ALTERED CARBON: RESLEEVED will hit Netflix on March 19th.
