TRICK 'R TREAT helmer Michael Dougherty's Christmas-set horror comedy KRAMPUS is beginning to cast up with The Hollywood Reporter sharing that Emmy-nominated actress Allison Tolman (FX's "Fargo") and Emjay Anthony (CHEF) are in negotiations to board the project.
Co-written by Dougherty, Todd Casey and Zach Shields, KRAMPUS is described as…
…a twisted horror comedy centering around a Santa Claus-like ancient entity who punished bad kids.
Tolman and Anthony will play mother and son in a family that is under the demon's attack. Anthony's character is essentially the lead of the movie, as his is the one that has to step up to save the day.
Legendary Pictures is behind the movie, which Universal will release just in time for next year's holidays, on December 4, 2015.
Dougherty spoke about the project back in May, sharing…
“I’ve been drawing twisted Christmas cards for well over a decade, so it only made sense to bring some of that morbid yuletide fun to the big screen, and Krampus was the perfect mythology to do that. Christmas has been invading Halloween for far too long. It’s time to return the favor."
