Ready your wand, mix up a batch of Polyjuice Potion and plot out a path to gather your Horcruxes because Peacock today announced all eight Harry Potter films will be available to stream in windows over the next six months starting later this year and into 2021.
“The Harry Potter franchise is beloved by people of all ages and represents the caliber of quality entertainment customers can expect to find on Peacock,” said Frances Manfredi, President, Content Acquisition and Strategy, Peacock. “We’ve built a world-class collection of iconic movies and shows, and we will continue to expand the film library with treasured titles from NBCUniversal and beyond that will surprise and delight Peacock customers time and time again.”
The motion picture magic of J.K. Rowling's famed Harry Potter film series will be available to stream for Peacock subscribers this October. Naturally, the list of films scheduled to apparate onto the service includes HARRY POTTER AND THE SORCERER'S STONE (2001), HARRY POTTER AND THE CHAMBER OF SECRETS (2002), HARRY POTTER AND THE PRISONER OF AZKABAN (2004), HARRY POTTER AND THE GOBLET OF FIRE (2005), HARRY POTTER AND THE ORDER OF THE PHOENIX (2007), HARRY POTTER AND THE HALF-BLOOD PRINCE (2009), and HARRY POTTER AND THE DEATHLY HALLOWS, PART 1 (2010), and PART 2 (2011).
Over the course of eight Harry Potter films and two installments of Rowling's Fantastic Beasts franchise, the Harry Potter film brand has grossed more than $9.2 billion dollars at the worldwide box office. Those are some very magical numbers, though in recent times it would appear that the effects of Pottermania are beginning to fade. I say this not only because Rowling's popularity has diminished as of late thanks in part to her radical stances on trans rights, but also because fans don't appear to be as interested in the author's Fantastic Beasts series as they were when Harry was on the hunt for Lord Voldemort. Be that as it may, Peacock landing the core Harry Potter series of films is still a major get for the streamer, and I've no doubt that fans of the franchise will enjoy having the series close at hand and ready to cast a spell on a smart device of their choosing.
