Forty years ago, Ridley Scott blessed science-fiction fans with one of the most iconic films of the genre with his 1979 classic ALIEN. To say the film was a game-changer would be a gross understatement, as many would argue that the math needed to properly calculate the impact of the Alien franchise on pop culture has yet to be invented.
To celebrate ALIEN's 40th anniversary and everlasting impact on filmmaking, Fathom Events is bringing ALIEN back to the big screen at more than 600 nationwide theaters as part of its TCM Big Screen Classics series. This limited-time event will last for three days only: this Sunday, October 13, Tuesday, October 15, and Wednesday, October 16.

Working from a screenplay by Dan O’Bannon and a story by Dan O’Bannon and Ronald Shusett, Ridley Scott's ALIEN has stood the test of time with regard to establishing memorable characters and creatures within the sci-fi stratosphere. Many have tried and failed to achieve the franchise's greatness, proving time and again that there's no substitute for close-quarters terror in an arena where no one can hear you scream.
In ALIEN, Sigourney Weaver, Tom Skerritt, Veronica Cartwright, Harry Dean Stanton, John Hurt, Ian Holm and Yaphet Kotto are the crew members of the Nostromo, which investigates a mysterious signal coming from an unknown planet. When they unwittingly take an alien creature aboard the ship, they have no idea just how terrifying—and deadly—the ordeal will be.
Having seen ALIEN on the big screen myself, I can tell you from first-hand experience that it's an unforgetable experience. If you've never had the pleasure, do yourself a favor and don't sleep on getting tickets to this very special and limited-time offer. Rally your troops, brush up on your favorite quotes from the franchise, and go kick some alien ass!
