Yorgos Lanthimos loves himself some animals. The follow-up to his much-applauded dark comedy THE LOBSTER is the psychological drama THE KILLING OF A SACRED DEER. The film has just begun production in Cincinnati with Nicole Kidman and Colin Farrell (who also starred in THE LOBSTER) at the helm, but they've just been joined by an even more intriguing presence: Alicia Silverstone.
The CLUELESS star has recently been seen in KING COBRA and Making a Scene with James Franco, but this will be her most high profile role in a while.
Also newly cast are Raffey Cassidy (TOMORROWLAND) and Bill Camp (JASON BOURNE).
Farrell will be playing
a successful surgeon who attempts to integrate a teenager into his family, but when the teen’s actions grow increasingly sinister, the doctor is forced to make an unthinkable sacrifice.
He will be joined in the cast by Nicole Kidman, who will be playing his wife. Silverstone will play the mother of the boy. The cast also includes Barry Keoghan and Sunny Suljic.
Lanthimos co-wrote the film with Efthymis Filippou.
