Alice in Wonderland sequel now called Through The Looking Glass; Sacha Baron Cohen might play the villain

Last Updated on August 5, 2021

Disney's ALICE IN WONDERLAND sequel has a new title, and possibly a new star. Deadline is reporting the film will be called THROUGH THE LOOKING GLASS, and Sacha Baron Cohen is in early negotiations for a part. The site isn't sure who Cohen might be playing in the film, however Variety has heard it is the villain, and Bleeding Cool thinks the character is Time.

Mia Wasikowska and Johnny Depp will be back for the sequel, but THE MUPPETS director James Bobin will be behind the camera instead of Tim Burton, who directed the last film. Although there aren't that many plot details for THROUGH THE LOOKING GLASS, it will obviously be based on the Lewis Carroll novel, but with a few changes, like the previous movie.

I know most of you aren't that high on THROUGH THE LOOKING GLASS, and to be honest I'm not either. Maybe the new movie will be better than the last, however I just don't see that happening. If Sacha Baron Cohen does sign on to play the villain I guess that would be cool, but it's just not enough to get me that excited for THROUGH THE LOOKING GLASS.

THROUGH THE LOOKING GLASS is scheduled to be released on May 27th, 2016.
