A remake/reboot/reimagining/regurgitation of Alex Proyas' THE CROW has been in the works for a number of years but has almost always found itself hitting a wall before production could begin. The latest attempt at bringing THE CROW back to life was being set up at Relativity Media and that project experienced a revolving door of actors set to play Eric Draven, including Luke Evans and Jack Huston. After Relativity's bankruptcy, the remake of THE CROW was left without funding and without a lead, seemingly putting the final nail in its coffin, but the spark of life returned when Corin Hardy (THE NUN) signed on to direct with Jason Momoa (JUSTICE LEAGUE) set to star.
Set to be distributed by Sony, the long-gestating reboot of THE CROW finally seems ready to move forward (we've heard that before), but one person is hoping that the project will go back on the shelf, Alex Proyas, director of the original 1994 film starring the late Brandon Lee. Should the reboot go ahead, Proyas worries that it would tarnish the legacy of Lee, who tragically died near the end of production on the film.
