Last month, we heard that Juan of the Dead (watch it HERE) director Alejandro Brugues had signed on to direct a Netflix horror film with a title that's way too long, The Last Will and Testament of Charles Abernathy. Now we know who's going to star in the film. The announced cast includes Rachel Nichols (P2), Peyton List (Cobra Kai), Bob Gunton (The Shawshank Redemption), Austin Stowell (Bridge of Spies), Briana Middleton (The Tender Bar), David Walton (Bad Moms), and Reese Alexander (Chilling Adventures of Sabrina).
The Last Will and Testament of Charles Abernathy was written by Chris LaMont and Joe Russo, and their script was featured on the BloodList in 2018. The story LaMont and Russo crafted centers on
billionaire Charles Abernathy who, on the eve of his 75th birthday, invites his four estranged children back home out of fear that tonight someone – or something – is coming to kill him. To ensure his family will help protect him from whatever’s coming, Abernathy puts each of their inheritances on the line – they’ll get nothing if he’s found dead by dawn.
Brugues has assembled a solid cast to bring that story to the screen. Bob Gunton happens to be 75 years old, so I'm going to assume he's playing Charles Abernathy.
Paul Schiff is producing the film, with Dan Clarke executive producing.
