Alberta Film Ratings might have leaked the title for Jumanji 3

Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle, Sony, Dwayne Johnson

While Sony has yet to reveal the official title for director Jake Kasdan's JUMANJI: WELCOME TO THE JUNGLE sequel, it's possible that Alberta Film Ratings has allowed the name to leak before game time. To be clear, the Alberta Film Ratings organization is responsible for classifying any trailers before they make their Alberta theaters debut, and has recently rated a PG trailer for … wait for it … JUMANJI: THE NEXT LEVEL – which could be the title of the next Jumanji adventure.

I also have it on good authority that exotic birds have been landing atop window sills, and are chirping about how the 2:30-minute long trailer will play ahead of Sony's SPIDER-MAN: FAR FROM HOME, which is set to web-swing into theaters on July 2nd. If you think about it, this all make perfect sense, seeing as the trailer for JUMANJI: WELCOME TO THE JUNGLE was featured ahead of SPIDER-MAN: HOMECOMING's 2017 release in theaters. It's almost like this was Sony's plan all along, those clever so-and-sos. I'm onto you.

Little is known about the next chapter of the Jumanji franchise thus far, other than that several members of the Welcome to the Jungle cast are expected to return. Among those set to play another dangerous game for the sequel are Dwayne Johnson as Dr. Smolder Bravestone, Jack Black  as Professor Sheldon "Shelly" Oberon, Kevin Hart as Franklin "Mouse" Finbar, and Karen Gillan as Ruby Roundhouse, with Madison Iseman as Bethany, Alex Wolff as Spencer, Ser’Darius Blain as Fridge, and Morgan Turner as Martha. Nick Jonas is also expected to reprise his role as Alex, with Danny Glover, Danny DeVito, Awkwafina, Dania Ramirez, and Rhys Darby also joining the fray.

In JUMANJI: WELCOME TO THE JUNGLE, a group of teens are trasported into a video game where they become the players they've chosen, each armed with a unique set of abilities. Before their limited amount of lives run out, the group must solve the mystery of Jumanji and escape a deadly jungle filled with wild beasts and crazed villains.

The next installment of the Jumanji franchise will arrive in theaters on December 13, 2019.
