Casting for Greg Berlanti and Akiva Goldsman's live-action Teen Titans series has been trucking along over the past month, with Brenton Thwaites (PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN: DEAD MEN TELL NO TALES) signing on to play Dick Grayson, Anna Diop (24: Legacy) playing Starfire, and Teagan Croft (THE OSIRIS CHILD) playing Raven. Now, Deadline reveals that Alan Ritchson (THE HUNGER GAMES: CATCHING FIRE) and Minka Kelly (Friday Night Lights) will be joining the crime-fighting team as well.

Alan Ritchson will be playing Hawk, aka Hank Hall, while Minka Kelly will be playing Dove, aka Dawn Granger. The crime-fighting vigilante duo, as well as romantic partners, are the perfect example of opposites attracting, with Hawk as an "aggressive, offensive bruiser," while Dove is more "strategic, defensive, and lithe." The roles are expected to be recurring for the first season of Titans, with an option to become regulars in the second season. Deadline has also heard that the producers are looking into the possibility of a Hawk and Dove spin-off series should all work out. The series will follow a group of young soon-to-be superheroes recruited from every corner of the DC Universe, with Dick Grayson emerging from the shadows to become their leader.

Penned by Greg Berlanti, Akiva Goldsman, and Geoff Johns, the upcoming series is set to premiere in 2018 as one of the centerpieces of a new DC-branded direct-to-consumer digital streaming service. Yes, another one.
