Looking for something to watch tonight? It's Friday night and the least I could do for you guys is give you a recommend on a flick to watch over the weekend. Well, no worries. I got you covered. Turns out the FRAILTY has just been added to Netflix instant streaming. Boom. There you go. Night planned.
FRAILTY for your lame friend's, or girlfriend's, information is directed by the late Bill Paxton, who stars with Matthew McConaughey as father and son, respectively. How does that work? Well, half of the film takes place in "present day" (2001, I think…) and the other half takes place many years earlier. Point being, it is a twisty tale that jumps back and forth through time.
Here is the official synopsis via IMDb:
A man confesses to an FBI agent his family's story of how his religious fanatic father's visions lead to a series of murders to destroy supposed "demons."
The man himself, The Arrow, gave the film a 10/10 rating, and just for those somehow still on the fence about whether or not this flick should be the one the watch tonight, here's a quote from Arrow's review:
"Frailty" is quite an accomplishment. I’ve always been a HUGE fan of Paxton’s acting work but now I’m flabbergasted: the man is also an awesome director! Congratulations, dude! If mature, challenging, expertly written and unapologetic horror is your bag, run to your multiplex and get ready for a nightmarish trip. Do me a favor though, when you do see the picture and if you do love it, spread the word about it. Quality horror movies of this sort should be financially successful too. Let's get the word of mouth going on this grim gem.
If it were not obvious by this point I highly recommend you check out FRAILTY. Preferably tonight. Or sooner than that, if you're not up to much at the moment. Already seen it? Watch it again.
Good night and good luck.
