AHS: 1984 promises to be a treat for ’80s horror fans

I have to admit that I've fallen behind on AMERICAN HORROR STORY. I watched every episode of AHS: CULT as it aired but have yet to watch even a single episode of AHS: APOCALYPSE. But I mean to get on that sooner rather than later. Especially considering how much I'm looking forward to the show's upcoming 80's slasher themed season AHS: 1984.

And speaking of the upcoming season of Ryan Murphy's anthology series, executive producer Tim Minear just dropped some fun teases the other day letting us know that this new season is going to be awesome, really scary, and a lot of fun. But not just that, Minear also promises that if you have a taste for ’80s horror, you’re in for a treat.

Minear says:

I will tell you nothing, except that I think it’s awesome. I think it’s gonna be really scary but a lot of fun, like it always is. And that if you have a taste for ’80s horror, you’re in for a treat.

He continues:

Generally, Ryan is ahead of the zeitgeist as opposed to following it. So what I would say is that this has been an area that Ryan has talked about since I’ve known him and it’s just a real sweet spot for him. And I think it was time for him to do it.

The eighth season of the anthology, AHS: Apocalypse was a crossover between Season 1: Murder House and Season 3: Coven and featured the likes of Emma Roberts, Sarah Paulson, Evan Peters, Taissa Farmiga, Jessica Lange, Connie Britton, Angela Bassett, and Dylan McDermott.

No plot or character details have been released for AHS: 1984 but we do know that AHS alum Emma Roberts will be returning this season along with Olympic medalist Gus Kenworthy, who is playing her boyfriend. AHS: 1984 will premiere this fall on FX.
