Agatha: Coven of Chaos welcomes Patti LuPone to the cast

Deadline has reported that Patti LuPone has joined the cast of Agatha: Coven of Chaos, Marvel’s upcoming WandaVision spinoff for Disney+. Kathryn Hahn will be reprising her role of Agatha Harkness, a powerful witch who masqueraded as Wanda’s nosy neighbour in the original series.

In keeping with Marvel tradition, the nature of Patti LuPone’s role in Agatha: Coven of Chaos hasn’t been revealed, but Deadline hears that she may be playing a witch. In addition to Kathryn Hahn and Patti LuPone, the cast of Agatha: Coven of Chaos includes Aubrey Plaza, Joe Locke, Ali Ahn, Maria Dizzia, and Sasheer Zamata. It’s also expected that Emma Caulfield Ford will be reprising the role of Dottie from WandaVision.

Jac Schaefer, the creator, writer, and executive producer of WandaVision will be serving the same role for Agatha: Coven of Chaos, and it’s expected that she will do the same for the other WandaVision spinoff series, Vision Quest. The potential series would focus on The Vision (Paul Bettany) as he attempts to regain his memory and humanity after the events of WandaVision. It’s also been said that there’s a chance that Wanda (Elizabeth Olsen) might appear in the series, but nothing has been confirmed. Agatha: Coven of Chaos is excepted to debut on Disney+ late next year.

Patti LuPone was recently seen in The School for Good and Evil alongside Charlize Theron and Kerry Washington. The Netflix movie revolved around two friends who are sent to the titular school but find their fortunes seemingly reversed and their friendship put to the test. LuPone will also be seen starring alongside Joaquin Phoenix in Ari Aster’s Beau is Afraid, which is set to be released next year. The film is said to center on an anxious man who is travelling home upon learning of the death of his mother under mysterious circumstances. During the journey, he makes an alarming discovery about his past and runs into various supernatural threats.
