The kick-ass that Milla Jovovich delivers to the undead will have to wait til next year to be seen by the masses.
For those who are following the lovely Milla on Twitter, you probably know that she is constantly updating from the RESIDENT EVIL: AFTERLIFE set. Earlier today, this is what was said on the delay, “RE Afterlife IS NOT officially pushed. There have been talks of pushing it as they [are] not sure they can have it ready by July. We [are] trying as hard as we can to still meet the summer deadline though, so for the moment its still on for August.” Though according to Screen Gems, the film has be pushed til January 14, 2011.
AFTERLIFE was originally due out August 27, 2010. It seems that it’s going to take a little bit longer for the post-production 3D processing work. So instead PRIEST will take the August slot. Something else that’s noteworthy is that with the new date RE will put itself against another 3D film, Joss Whedon’s CABIN IN THE WOODS. If you recall, CABIN was also pushed back for 3D conversions and hopefully a larger audience. I wonder if all this 3D shit will pay off.
