AFI’s top-ten list of 2015 includes The Force Awakens and Mad Max: Fury Road

As the end of the year approaches we'll find ourselves inundated by a multitude of top-ten lists from all corners of the internet, we may agree with some and disagree with others, but they always make for a good topic of discussion. The American Film Institute (AFI) had delayed the date on which they choose the best pictures of the year so that its jury would be able to view several films that hadn't screened yet, including STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKENS. Now that they've screened the final films of the year, the AFI has unveiled their list of the top ten films of 2015.

As STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKENS was one of the films that the AFI was waiting to screen, it seems as though the delay was well worth it for the latest Star Wars film. The AFI also released their list of the top ten TV programs of the year as well as announcing that Mad Men will receive an AFI Special Award.

The honorees will gather together for a private luncheon on January 8, 2016 where the AFI will reveal the jury rationales for each selection.
