In addition to the advance ticket information, Disney Pixar also dropped a new clip from the film, featuring the moment when Forky is introduced to the other toys in Bonnie's collection:
Here's the official synopsis for TOY STORY 4:
Woody (voice of Tom Hanks) has always been confident about his place in the world, and that his priority is taking care of his kid, whether that’s Andy or Bonnie. So, when Bonnie’s beloved new craft-project-turned-toy, Forky (voice of Tony Hale), declares himself as “trash” and not a toy, Woody takes it upon himself to show Forky why he should embrace being a toy. But when Bonnie takes the whole gang on her family’s road trip excursion, Woody ends up on an unexpected detour that includes a reunion with his long-lost friend Bo Peep (voice of Annie Potts). After years of being on her own, Bo’s adventurous spirit and life on the road belie her delicate porcelain exterior. As Woody and Bo realize they’re worlds apart when it comes to life as a toy, they soon come to find that’s the least of their worries.
Directed by Josh Cooley, and produced by Mark Nielsen (associate producer of INSIDE OUT) and Jonas Rivera (UP, INSIDE OUT), Disney and Pixar’s TOY STORY 4 stars the voice acting talents of Tom Hanks, Tim Allen, Annie Potts, Tony Hale, Keegan-Michael Key, Madeleine McGraw, Christina Hendricks, Jordan Peele, Keanu Reeves, Ally Maki, Jay Hernandez, Lori Alan, Joan Cusack, Bonnie Hunt, Kristen Schaal, Emily Davis, Wallace Shawn, John Ratzenberger, Blake Clark, June Squibb, Carl Weathers, Lila Sage, Don Rickles, Jeff Garlin, Maliah Bargas-Good, Jack McGraw, Juliana Hansen, and Estelle Harris, among others.
As a major fan of the franchise, I'll be very curious to hear the early reactions to this film. While I never doubted that Disney Pixar would eventually reach into the toy chest for another TOY STORY sequel, I am of the opinion that Woody and the gang's story came to a flawless finish in 2010 with director Lee Unkirk's TOY STORY 3. Ugh! Just thinking about the final moments of that film has me clutching my chest and gasping for air. I'd like to think that the studio would have let sleeping Slinky dogs lie, if it were not for a truly inspired follow-up to the original trilogy, but that remains to be seen. After all, the greedy arms of corporations are long, and they come equipped with sharp nails, always looking to dig dents in wallets the world over. Here's hoping that TOY STORY 4 arrives as yet another triumph for the series, rather than a sequel that should have stayed in the incinerator.
TOY STORY 4 will arrive in theaters on June 21.
