It's been announced that Adrien Brody (The Pianist, The Grand Budapest Hotel) and Vera Farmiga (The Conjuring, Godzilla: King of the Monsters) will star in Ant Timpson's mystery thriller THE SALAMANDER LIVES TWICE.
According to reports, the story was written by Toby Harvard and Timpson and revolves around an injured man (Brody) with an impenetrable briefcase and no memory who is found on the shoreline of a remote island by Iris and her daughter Goggy (Farmiga), the last remaining members of a once-prosperous family dynasty.
Emma Slade will produce through Firefly Films, with Katie Holly producing for Blinder Films. Timpson and XYZ Films will executive produce.
Little else is known about the project at this time other than that Brody and Farmiga should make for some interesting chemistry on the silver screen. It's also worth noting that Timpson helmed the 2019 thriller COME TO DADDY, starring Elijah Wood, Stephen McHattie, and Garfield Wilson. Now, I don't know if you've seen this movie, but it was très bizarre. Knowing that Timpson has a knack for presenting curious characters thrust into intense situations makes The Salamander Lives Twice worth keeping an eye on.
We'll be sure to bring you more as this project continues to develop.
