While it seems like a new STAR WARS movie might be a ways off, fresh off of "The Mandalorian" landing 15 Emmy nominations, another franchise spin-off is casting up, with 6 UNDERGROUND's Adria Arjona and the legendary Stellan Skarsgard signing-on for the long-planned ROGUE ONE: A STAR WARS STORY spin-off series. As previously announced, the prequel series will center around Diego Luna's character, Cassian Andor, with both Luna and Alan Tudyk, who voiced his droid K-2SO, returning.
So far, no word on who either of them will be playing, but Deadline is reporting Arjona's role is a series lead. They're also reporting that Denise Gough, Genevieve O’Reilly, and Kyle Soller have joined the series. While Stephen Schiff of "The Americans" is the showrunner, Tony Gilroy, who co-wrote ROGUE ONE and oversaw the reshoots, will be on-board to write the pilot as well as direct multiple episodes of the series, which is being described as a "spy thriller."
No word yet on when the show will go into production. Disney+ also has the Ewan McGregor Obi Wan-Kenobi limited series planned, while the second season of "The Mandalorian" is set to drop on the service this fall.
