We've been seeing a lot from YOU'RE NEXT duo Adam Wingard and Simon Barrett's upcoming thriller THE GUEST lately, most recently sharing a teaser trailer and a handful of new images with you. The much buzzed about Sundance hit is said to be a fun throwback to the suspense thrillers of the 80's and our own Chris Bumbray really dug it in his review HERE. Now we've learned when to expect THE GUEST to arrive, so you better start planning accordingly…he's bringing trouble with him.
Picturehouse has announced a September 17 release date for THE GUEST, which comes at us from director Adam Wingard, writer Simon Barrett and Snoot Entertainment’s Keith Calder and Jessica Calder. The film stars Dan Stevens of “Downton Abbey” fame, with Maika Monroe, Brendan Meyer, Sheila Kelley, Leland Orser, and Lance Reddick (“American Horror Story”) joining in on the wicked fun. The story concerns…
… a young soldier who arrives on the doorstep of the Peterson family, claiming to be a good friend of their beloved son who died in action. The Petersons welcome David into their home and into their lives, but when people start mysteriously dying in town, mayhem ensues as their teenage daughter Anna starts wondering if David is responsible.
This one sounds like it could be one hell of a twisted tale, and after YOU'RE NEXT I'm always down for more from Wingard and Barrett. Look for THE GUEST to arrive on September 17.
