Adam West Burt Ward Batman: Return of the Caped Crusaders

Batman has existed for many decades and has been played by a variety of different actors over the years, but almost everyone is familiar with Adam West's campy portrayal of the character in the classic 1960's Batman television series. In celebration of the the show's fiftieth anniversary, both Adam West and Burt Ward will be reprising their roles of Batman and Robin for BATMAN: RETURN OF THE CAPED CRUSADERS, a new animated feature which follows the spirit of the 60's series. Entertainment Weekly has released the first trailer for the new flick and it actually looks like it could be rather fun.

"Holy entrée, Batman!"

Also appearing in BATMAN: RETURN OF THE CAPED CRUSADERS will be Julie Newmar, who will reprise her role as Catwoman. Joker, Riddler and Penguin will also pop up, but it's not known who will be voicing those characters as Cesar Romero, Frank Gorshin and Burgess Meredith have all passed on. With many of the current Batman stories pumping up the the grit and darkness, I imagine that it will be refreshing to return to Adam West's goofier, but still cool, take on the Dark Knight.

BATMAN: RETURN OF THE CAPED CRUSADERS will be released on Digital HD on October 11, 2016 and on Blu-ray on November 1, 2016.
