Adam Scott and David Koechner to star in Michael Dougherty’s Krampus

With Christmas just about nine months away, casting is just coming together on Michael Dougherty's holiday horror movie KRAMPUS. The film, coming via Legendary Pictures, concerns the fabled creature that takes away the naughty children that don't get presents from Santa Claus. The film now has two of the roles filled by comedic actors Adam Scott and David Koechner.

According to The Wrap, Scott and Koechner will play fathers whose children are taken away by the pagan demon. They join the already cast Allison Tolman from FX’s FARGO and Emjay Anthony from Jon Favreau‘s CHEF. There is no further details on the plot or the tone of the film aside from it being called a holiday horror comedy.

Dougherty is best known as a writer on the first X-MEN films as well as his cult favorite Halloween movie TRICK R TREAT. He definitely knows how to balance horror and comedy, so KRAMPUS should definitely be a fun ride. Both Scott and Koechner have been known for their comedy roles. Scott most recently appeared in HOT TUB TIME MACHINE 2 while also gaining acclaim for his parts in PARTY DOWN and PARKS AND RECREATION. Koechner, of course, has been best known for playing Champ Kind in the ANCHORMAN films. Hopefully their skills will not be too broad in KRAMPUS and still give us a nice R-rated alternative Christmas movie.

KRAMPUS is slated to debut on December 4, 2015.
