When it comes to making bank at Netflix, few celebrities who've partnered with the streaming service have raked in as many dollars as Adam Sandler. Recently, the SNL alum's newest comedy, MURDER MYSTERY, broke Netflix's record for opening weekend views. According to sources, the action crime comedy starring Sandler and HORRIBLE BOSSES actress Jennifer Aniston clocked 30.9 million streams after just three days of release. With those kind of numbers, you can bet that Netflix will be willing to roll the dice for whatever Sandler plans to do next.

As it happens, Sandler and Netflix have announced more info pertaining to the PUNCH DRUNK LOVE actor's next exclusive feature for the streamer, titled HUBIE HALLOWEEN. Framed as a Halloween Whodunit, the film centers on a good-natured but eccentric community volunteer nanmed Hubie Dubois (Sandler), who finds himself at the center of a real murder case on Halloween night. Despite his devotion to his hometown of Salem, Massachusetts (and its legendary Halloween celebration), Hubie is a figure of mockery for kids and adults alike. But this year, something really is going bump in the night, and it’s up to Hubie to save Halloween.

Oh man, where's Ernest P. Worrell when you need him, amiright? Somebody get Sandler some milk so he can banish the trolls of Salem, Massachusetts! For real, though, rest in peace, Jim Varney.

Of course, because the project is a Happy Madison production, you can bet all your candy that Sandler will be casting many of his friends for HUBIE HALLOWEEN's seasonal shenanigans. So far, we've received word that Kevin James, Julie Bowen, Maya Rudolph, Ray Liotta, Steve Buscemi, Rob Schneider, Michael Chiklis, and Kenan Thompson are all set to join the fun. Steve Brill (SANDY WEXLER) will direct from a script penned by Sandler and Tim Herlihy, with China Anne McClain, Paris Berelc, Tim Meadows, Colin Quinn, June Squibb, Shaquille O’Neal, Karan Brar, Noah Schnapp, Mikey Day, Melissa Villaseñor, Kym Whitley, Lavell Crawford, Betsy Sodaro, George Wallace, and Blake Clark all expected to co-star.

While some might be of the opinion that Sandler's signature brand of comedy has failed to impress over the past several years, that hasn't stopped fans from tuning into his latest antics. Whether it's morbid curiosity or a genuine interest in what he brings to the genre, the numbers don't lie, Sandler is indeed a force to be reckoned with when it comes to comedy.
