Most of us are fully aware about the behind-the-scenes shenanigans which took place on the road to getting ANT-MAN made, Edgar Wright and Joe Cornish originally wrote the script for ANT-MAN with Wright set to direct but then, yadda yadda yadda, that didn't exactly work out. Edgar Wright and ANT-MAN star Paul Rudd then took their own crack at the script and the results were surprisingly decent. With Peyton Reed in talks to return to the director's chair for ANT-MAN AND THE WASP, many were wondering if Adam McKay would also be returning for the sequel.
Adam McKay spoke to THR where he revealed that he has already spoken to Paul Rudd about that very thing, but that the ball is in Marvel's court.
I was talking to [Paul] Rudd about it the other day. We’ll see what happens, but that would certainly be fun. I loved working with Marvel. And I have a couple of projects in development. One of them is more dramatic, one’s more comedy, still with a little bit of political teeth to it. And there’s a TV show idea I’ve been kicking around.
McKay's next is the upcoming THE BIG SHORT, which follows four outsiders who, when they saw what the big banks, media and government refused to, the global collapse of the economy, had an idea: The Big Short. Their bold investment leads them into the dark underbelly of modern banking where they must question everyone and everything. Starring Christian Bale, Brad Pitt, Ryan Gosling, and Steve Carrel, THE BIG SHORT will see its wide release on December 23, 2015. Meanwhile, ANT-MAN AND THE WASP will open on July 6, 2018.
Would you welcome McKay's return or would you rather see someone else take on the job for ANT-MAN AND THE WASP?
