It was only a few weeks back that we learned writer-director Adam Green had secretly filmed a sequel to his famous slasher series HATCHET and the film premiered at an event called the Hatchet 10th Anniversary screening. Pretty cool.
Then we got a (simple) teaser trailer and learned that scream queens Felissa Rose (SLEEPAWAY CAMP) and Tiffany Shepis (HOME SICK) were part of the secret cast. We then were told that Green planned to take his sequel out on the road with a tour featuring cast & crew Q&As and the whole nine yards.
Today we finally have news about when you can expect to see the film… if you live in Canada.
Screen Daily is reporting that Raven Banner has picked up VICTOR CROWLEY for theatrical release in select Canadian theaters this October. The release will be part of the Victor Crowley Road Show "featuring Green and cast in a series of one-night screenings across North America."
The full roadshow schedule and additional release information are expected to follow shortly, and we here at AITH will let you know as soon as we do when dates are released for us here in the states!
How excited are you for the return of VICTOR CROWLEY? Make sure to hit us up and let us know what you think of this surprise HATCHET sequel on Facebook, Twitter, and/or Instagram.
VICTOR CROWLEY synopsis/rundown via EW:
Set ten years after the massacre featured in the series’ first three movies, lone survivor Andrew Yong has spent over a decade claiming that local legend Victor Crowley was responsible for the deaths of the forty-nine people killed in the original trilogy of films. Yong’s allegations have been met with widespread disbelief, but when a twist of fate puts him back at the scene of the tragedy, Crowley is mistakenly resurrected and Yong must face the bloodthirsty ghost from his past.
The film stars Kane Hodder, Dave Sheridan, Brian Quinn, Tiffany Shepis, Felissa Rose, Laura Ortiz, Chase Williamson, Parry Shen, Blake Woodruff and Jonah Ray.
VICTOR CROWLEY hits (Canadian) theaters this October.
