Australian actor Damon Herriman is currently best known for playing the character Dewey Crowe on 22 episodes of the television series Justified (pictured above), but it looks like he'll soon be best known for playing the infamous real life criminal / cult leader / musician Charles Manson in two separate projects.
A couple days ago, we learned that Herriman had been cast as Manson in Quentin Tarantino's new film ONCE UPON A TIME IN HOLLYWOOD, which is set in 1969 Los Angeles and deals in some way with the murder of actress Sharon Tate by members of Manson's "Manson Family". Soon after that announcement was made, it was revealed that Herriman just finished playing Manson in a different production last month.
That other project is the Netflix series Mindhunter, which was created by Joe Penhall and counts David Fincher as one of its executive producers. (Fincher has also directed several episodes of the show.)
Herriman's Manson will be appearing on Mindhunter sometime during the second season, which is set during the '80s, so his Manson there will be one who has already been in prison for quite a long time.
While Mindhunter season 2 doesn't have a premiere date yet, ONCE UPON A TIME IN HOLLYWOOD is scheduled to reach theatres on July 26, 2019.
We'll have to wait and see which of Herriman's Manson projects gets released first, but I'm very interested in seeing what his performances are going to be like.
