Acquisition news for Dark Was The Night, starring Kevin Durand & Lukas Haas

Good news! It seems as though DARK WAS THE NIGHT will finally see the light. The horror-thriller, directed by Jack Heller and produced by Caliber Media, has been acquired by Image Entertainment, which plans on giving the film a multi-city theatrical release later this year.

Last year DARK WAS THE NIGHT premiered at ScreamFest in Los Angeles and had subsequent screening at the Film Society of Lincoln Center’s Scary Movies.

Starring Kevin Durand, Lukas Haas, Nick Damici, Bianca Kajlich, Sabina Gadecki, Heath Freeman and Steve Agee, the film beings when…

a long slumbering evil is awoken in the trees outside the remote town of Maiden Woods. Isolated and threatened, it sets its sights on the townspeople, as Sheriff Paul Shields (Durand) attempts to overcome the demons of his past, so that he may protect thoe lives of the people he loves.

Heller produced the feature with his Caliber partner Sonnier, Sundial’s Stefan Nowicki and Joey Carey, and P Street’s Dylan Narang. Preferred Content’s Kevin Iwashina and Ross Dinerstein executive produced the film alongside screenwriter Tyler Hisel and his manager Alexander Robb. Give the promo trailer a peek below.
