Arnold Schwarzenegger now has a co-star for MAGGIE, the father-zombie-daughter pic from commercial director Henry Hobson. Abigail Breslin (THE CALL, SIGNS, ZOMBIELAND) will play the titular role in the film, which is “about a father (Schwarzenegger) whose daughter, Maggie (Breslin), is infected by a walking-dead virus that has spread across the country.” The black list script comes from John Scott 3 (yes, he really has a numeral 3 at the end of his name) and it’s unclear what genre (outside of zombie) the film will be (i.e. action, horror, comedy, or some combination).
Schwarzenegger is one of the producers of the film and it’s one of many stacked on his plate. The actor is going full steam ahead after reemerging earlier this year with THE LAST STAND. He’ll next be seen in ESCAPE PLAN, with long-time pal Sylvester Stallone, and early next year with director David Ayer‘s SABOTAGE. Breslin, who has been a rising star since she emerged on the scene will next be seen in the sci-fi adaptation of ENDER’S GAME.
MAGGIE begins shooting in the fall.
We all know what happened last time Arnold did a father-daughter movie…
