ABC will be debuting an "early glimpse" of Joss Whedon's THE AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON next month in Marvel Studios: Assembling a Universe, a one-hour special that goes behind the scenes of the comic-media empire. The special is said to have a "sneak peek" from the upcoming highly-anticipated sequel, but no word on what that will entail. We know that Whedon is currently in production on the film, so there's certainly time to whip something up to give fans an early taste of the superhero behemoth film.
The special will also have new footage from the next two entries in Marvel's Phase Two, CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE WINTER SOLDIER and GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY, as well as footage from upcoming episodes of Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and promises to give a “front row seat to the inception of Marvel Studios, the record-breaking films, the cultural phenomenon, and further expansion of the universe by Marvel Television.”
With THE AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON Just over 14 months away, I guess next month is as good a time as any to get the ball rollling on the hype wheel for the sequel. Not that it's really needed. THE AVENGERS is the third highest-grossing film of all time and with the standalone films adding fuel to the fire, there's little doubt that AGE OF ULTRON will be anything less than massive.
Marvel Studios: Assembling a Universe will premiere Tuesday, March 18 at 8 p.m. THE AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON hits theaters on May 1, 2015.
