There's a pilot called Evil being assembled for CBS and we've been following the casting for this pilot because Evil is a show that (if it's ordered to series) will follow
Kristen Bouchard, a skeptical clinical psychologist who joins Catholic priest-in-training David Acosta and a blue-collar contractor, Ben, as they investigate supposed miracles, demonic possessions and other extraordinary occurrences to see if there’s a scientific explanation or if something truly supernatural is at work.
Which sounds like something we here at Arrow in the Head might be interested in.
The names of the actors who will be playing two of the roles mentioned in that synopsis have previously been announced – Westworld's Katja Herbers is taking on the role of Kristen, while Mike Colter is moving on from the Netflix / Marvel series Luke Cage by signing on to play David.
Now we know who the show's third lead is: Aasif Mandvi has been cast as the blue-collar contractor. The Ben character is
a carpenter who was recruited for David’s team early on, Ben has a deep skepticism about all things supernatural. He is a genius at uncovering the organic reasons behind reported “hauntings,” but there may be things outside his understanding that will rattle his belief system.
Mandvi has eighty-eight acting credits to his name, but I know him best for his brief part as Mr. Aziz, Peter Parker's boss at the pizza place, in SPIDER-MAN 2 (pictured above).
Michael Emerson will also be appearing on the show as a guy named Townsend,
a seemingly kind and trustworthy man with a twinkle in his eye and an appealing manner, however, outward appearances couldn’t be more deceiving. An expert witness for the defense in a mass murder case, Townsend may actually be an agent of evil who spurs his followers on to acts of unspeakable violence and murder.
Evil was created by Robert and Michelle King, who are also executive producing the pilot with King Size Prods. president Liz Glotzer. Robert King is also directing the pilot.
