The supernatural horror film ASHES has been available on DVD and VOD for a while now, but today we have a clip that might entice you to check it out ASAP if you haven't already watched it. (DVDs can be purchased HERE, or the movie can watched through Amazon Prime HERE.)
Directed by Barry Jay, founder of the Barry's Bootcamp chain of exercise studios, ASHES tells the following story:
After a family’s estranged aunt passes away, they’re reluctant and creeped out to receive her cremated ashes. But when a series of supernatural misfortunes beset them, they’ll have to go through Hell to be rid of her angry spirit.
The film stars Elizabeth Keener, Jeremy Earl, Yumarie Morales, Angelique Maurnaé, and Melinda deKay.
The clip embedded below begins with a shot that reminds me of the '80s classic NIGHT OF THE DEMONS, then segues into a darkly hilarious scene involving a dead aunt's cremains. When something strange and disgusting happens, the reactions from the people in the scene strike me as both funny and quite realistic.
I was already interested in seeing ASHES, but after this clip I'm much more excited to get to it.
