Legendary action star, fitness advocate, philanthropist, and former governor of California, Arnold Schwarzenegger, has recently taken to his Twitter account to announce that a trailer for TERMINATOR: DARK FATE will arrive this Thursday morning.
Directed by DEADPOOL director Tim Miller, the upcoming sequel sees Linda Hamilton reprising her role as action icon Sarah Connors, for when a new Terminator threatens to rip our world a new one. Hamilton will of course be joined by Schwarzenegger as the famed T-800 (Model 101) Terminator for the upcoming blockbuster, alongside newcomers to the franchise, Mackenzie Davis as Grace, Natalia Reyes as Dani Ramos, and Gabriel Luna as yet another Terminator.
James Cameron and David Ellison are set to produce alongside Dana Goldberg.
Recently, Hamilton spoke about TERMINATOR: DARK FATE being a "return to form" for the series, which should come as a welcomed relief after TERMINATOR SALVATION (2009) and TERMINATOR GENISYS (2015) divided long-time fans of the franchise.
"I think definitely we have a good chance. I haven’t seen it, but in terms of narrowing down the characters again that you really care about, as opposed to just emptying the kitchen sink and having so many different versions of Terminators and so many different characters without a really cohesive story that keeps you interested – I think that we’ve returned to form that way. And that the action, you know it’s Tim Miller, it’s gonna be fantastic," said Hamilton.
Word on the street is that TERMINATOR: DARK FATE will also serve as a direct sequel to arguably the franchise's best installment, TERMINATOR 2: JUDGMENT DAY:
"In this sequel, set eleven years after "The Terminator," young John Connor (Edward Furlong), the key to civilization's victory over a future robot uprising, is the target of the shape-shifting T-1000 (Robert Patrick), a Terminator sent from the future to kill him. Another Terminator, the revamped T-800 (Arnold Schwarzenegger), has been sent back to protect the boy. As John and his mother (Linda Hamilton) go on the run with the T-800, the boy forms an unexpected bond with the robot."
Prepare your clothes, boots, and motorcycle, because TERMINATOR: DARK FATE will arrive to pump you up on November 1, 2019. Furthermore, be sure to check back with us Thursday morning at 6:00 a.m. PST when the first trailer goes live.
