David Haller and his band of mutant cohorts are back with a brand-new trailer for the second season of Marvel and FX's critically-acclaimed drama series, LEGION.
Starring Dan Stevens as David, the omega-level mutant son of X-Men founder Professor Xavier, LEGION presents comic fans with a truly psychedelic look at one of fiction's most powerful children of the atom. Joining David on his mission to help put an end to the shady organization whose desire it is to weaponize his abilities are a team of super-powered specialists willing to die for the chance to live peaceably among those who fear them the most.
The sophomore season of the show picks up after David and his team have seemingly bested a malicious parasite by the name of The Shadow King. Knowing that the evil villain could still be at large, David asks his friends to join him in his search for the insidious Amahl Farouk (Navid Negahban), leader of an underground syndicate located in the "Thieves' Quarter" in Cairo, Egypt.
Noah Hawley (FARGO) will return as executive producer of the show, alongside John Cameron, Lauren Shuler Donner, Simon Kinberg, Jeph Loeb and Jim Chory. LEGION also stars Rachel Keller (FARGO), Jermaine Clement (WHAT WE DO IN THE SHADOWS), Jermain Harris (BUSHWICK), Christine Horn (AMERICAN CRIME STORY), Bill Irwin (LADY IN THE WATER), Nathan Hurd (BATGIRL: SPOILED), Amber Midhunter (HELL OR HIGH WATER), and the unrelenting Aubrey Plaza (PARKS AND RECREATION).
As the contributor who reviewed the first season of LEGION for JoBlo, I can tell you without a breath of hesitation that Noah Hawley's psycho-drama is my favorite comic book-related television show outside of Netflix's MCEU offerings. I think the first season of the show brought something truly unique to the genre in every way, in addition to showcasing Aubrey Plaza with what I feel is the performance of her career. For real, that saucy dance number of hers toward the latter end of the season slayed me into pieces, when I saw it. With any luck, LEGION Season 2 will bring more exquisitely-filmed mutant mayhem to the small screen, and I for one simply cannot wait to enjoy it.
The second season of Marvel and FX's LEGION will premiere on FX on Tuesday, April 3.
