So the same day that Russell Crowe gets named as wanted for Darren Aronofsky’s NOAH, Jeff Sneider from Variety is reporting that Crowe is also a contender for the ROBOCOP reboot!
Umm huh? According to Sneider, he isn’t signed on but one of the top contenders for the role, and no he wasn’t joking. In fact he assured those who questioned him that it was valid and he was up for it. The issue is that NOAH and ROBOCOP are set to shoot around the same time, so he’s likely to do one or the other if either of those.
The original tweet: Sure, Russell Crowe, MIGHT star in Aronofsky’s NOAH… but do you know what else he MIGHT star in? Three words: Ro. Bo. Cop. #FloatThisBoat
It makes sense that we’d be hearing casting rumors because this week a new scribe was hired and the powers that be are definitely moving forward with this. Seems kind of odd that ROBOCOP was originally something that Aronofsky was going to direct and now he may end up losing the man he wants to the project.
