A shocking new villain appears in this Spider-Man: Homecoming set photo

Someone took some photos around the SPIDER-MAN: HOMECOMING set that you could say are—ahem—shocking.

Alright now that you’ve overcome your fit of riotous laughter, I can now report with your full attention that the new Spidey flick may have a third villain set to try and ruin the young hero’s life. A photo posted on Twitter shows a person dressed in yellow who may very well be the famed villain, The Shocker. As well, the guy has some killer silver gauntlet-ish things on, which he probably uses for all his shocking needs.

Take a look!

This could be the role being played by Bokeem Woodbine, and if Shocker does play a part in the new flick he would be the third villain on top of Vulture (Michael Keaton, probably) and The Tinkerer (Michael Chernus). I don’t know about you but a bunch of red flags are popping up in my head.

Some SPIDER-MAN movies (namely, SPIDER-MAN 3 and AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 2) have suffered for using too many villains. Not only have they used too many villains, but it seems that three may be the unlucky number. SPIDER-MAN 3 had Venom, Sandman and New Goblin, while AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 2 had Electro, Rhino and Green Goblin.

There’s really no telling how and why Shocker is showing up HOMECOMING. He could have a simple cameo, acting as beat-down fodder for Spidey, or maybe he’s being filmed for an after-credits scene. But if fans want one thing from these new movies is a fresh start for the Wall Crawler, and having three villains probably won’t do anything but bring up painful memories. I know Marvel seems bullet proof right now, but a third villain could prove a fatal shot if not done right. Plus, am I the only one who thinks Shocker's costume makes him look like a Sleestack from LAND OF THE LOST?

SPIDER-MAN: HOMECOMING swings into theaters July 7, 2017 starring Tom Holland, Zendaya, Michael Keaton, Marisa Tomei, Robert Downey Jr. and Michael Chernus.
