Deadline said that the sequel to last year's horror hit A QUIET PLACE had gone into production last month, but there was no indication that cameras were actually rolling until yesterday. That's when writer/director John Krasinski took to his social media accounts to share an image from the set… But this image just shows us a slate that is ready to shoot scene 1, take 1 of PART II.
Thankfully, the production is making a bit of a spectacle of itself, so we know for sure A QUIET PLACE PART II is now filming. Streets in the village of Akron, New York have been shut down so Krasinski can film scenes that apparently take place at different points throughout the film. It doesn't sound like the characters will just be there for one scene and then move on.
Speaking with WKBW Buffalo, producer Brad Fuller said,
We're hoping that residents of Akron will be able to come and see the movie and see their city represented throughout the entire film."
Fuller was also asked for plot details, but he kept things secretive:
We're gonna give them part of the story that they didn't get in the first movie."
A QUIET PLACE PART II will be filming in Akron until July 25th.
The first movie's stars Emily Blunt, Millicent Simmonds, and Noah Jupe are back for the sequel and are being joined by Cillian Murphy and Brian Tyree Henry.
Fuller is producing the film with Andrew Form and Michael Bay.
A QUIET PLACE PART II is scheduled to reach theatres on March 20, 2020.
