We're two weeks away from when the general audience will have their chance to watch writer/director John Krasinski's sequel to the 2018 hit A QUIET PLACE, but the first press screening of the movie was held yesterday, and the reactions that have come out of that screening were very positive.
The folks at Collider gathered together a batch of tweets that were sent out by people who attended the screening, and the consensus appears to be that A QUIET PLACE PART II is a solid sequel that does a good job of expanding on the world established in the first film, and that it's packed with tension – so much tension that entertainment writer Mike Ryan even said he had a stomach ache from how tense the movie was. The Illuminerdi said it was "one of the most tense experiences I've had in a theater", with Illuminerdi's Joseph Deckelmeier calling the film "a helluva ride". Kudos were given to members of the returning cast, as well as new addition Cillian Murphy.
So if you loved A QUIET PLACE, it sounds like you're going to have another movie to love when A QUIET PLACE PART II is released on March 20th.
The sequel has the following synopsis:
Following the deadly events at home, the Abbott family must now face the terrors of the outside world as they continue their fight survival in silence. Forced to venture into the unknown, they quickly realize that the creatures that hunt by sound are not the only threats that lurk beyond the sand path.
Returning A QUIET PLACE stars Emily Blunt, Millicent Simmonds, and Noah Jupe are joined in the cast by Cillian Murphy and Djimon Hounsou. Krasinksi also makes an appearance.
Krasinski produced A QUIET PLACE PART II with Michael Bay, Andrew Form, and Brad Fuller. Allyson Seeger, Joann Perritano, and Aaron Janus served as executive producers.
