A Quiet Place 2 wraps filming

Last Updated on August 2, 2021

John Krasinski's A QUIET PLACE PART II starring Emily Blunt will see the return of not only Blunt, but young stars Millicent Simmonds, and Noah Jupe as well, along with Cillian Murphy (BATMAN BEGINS) and Djimon Hounsou replacing Brian Tyree Henry. And today we have word from Krasinski over on Twitter that filming has wrapped on the much-anticipated sequel.

The recently replaced Henry did say this about where the story goes before dropping out, saying:

I’m still trying to find that out, but I really think that what we’ll do is we’ll see more of that family continuing to survive and finding out that they’re not the only ones. And I think that we’re also going to get a few answers to the origin of where and how this whole thing happened. I think that people want to know that. But I think you’re just going to see another side of it… more of humanity that survived this thing in this next story."

The original film was based on a screenplay written by Krasinski along with Bryan Woods and Scott Beck and is:

A taut and original thriller that follows a family who must navigate their lives in silence to avoid mysterious creatures that hunt by sound. Knowing that even the slightest whisper or footstep can bring death, Evelyn (Emily Blunt) and Lee (John Krasinski) are determined to find a way to protect their children at all costs while they desperately search for a way to fight back. The film earned a 95% fresh score on Rotten Tomatoes and generated an extraordinary $175M+ at the domestic box office.

Paramount Pictures moved their sequel from its previously announced May 15, 2020 release date up to March 20, 2019. That said, the original flick is now available on Digital, 4K Ultra HD Combo Pack, Blu-ray Combo Pack and DVD. You can pick up a copy on Blu-ray HERE.
