Much like Blumhouse made a deal with Hulu to make the Into the Dark series of feature films and with Amazon for the Welcome to the Blumhouse series of features, the production company has also sealed a deal to produce eight horror and thriller films for the Epix premimum cable outlet. The first Blumhouse / Epix collaboration is A House on the Bayou, which is now filming in New Orleans with Angela Sarafyan of Westworld in the lead.
Written and directed by Alex McAulay, A House on the Bayou follows
a troubled couple and their teenage daughter, who take a vacation to an isolated house in the Louisiana bayou to reconnect as a family. When unexpected visitors arrive, their facade of family unity starts to unravel, as terrifying secrets come to light.
The family consists of Sarafyan, Paul Schneider as her character's husband, and Lia McHugh as their daughter. They are joined in the cast by Jacob Lofland, Doug Van Liew, and Lauren Richards.
A House on the Bayou will premiere on Epix in December 2021.
While I haven't watched the Welcome to the Blumhouse movies yet, I am a fan of what Blumhouse has been doing with the Into the Dark movies, so I look forward to seeing what comes out of their Epix deal. A House on the Bayou sounds like an interesting start to the series.
