A Dark Foe trailer: Selma Blair, Graham Greene star in serial killer film

Last Updated on July 30, 2021

It was back in October of 2019 when we shared the first trailer for the serial killer film A Dark Foe, which was making the film festival rounds at the time. Now Vertical Entertainment is planning to give A Dark Foe an On Demand release on July 30th, and a month out from the day when it will be available everywhere, we've gotten our hands on a new trailer. Check it out in the embed above!

A Dark Foe marks the feature directorial debut of Maria Gabriela Cardenas, who wrote the screenplay with her father Oscar Cardenas. Oscar Cardenas also stars in the film, making his own feature debut, and he has a solid supporting cast that includes Selma Blair, Graham Greene, Kenzie Dalton, and Bill Bellamy. The synopsis:

A guilt-ridden FBI agent, stranded in the painful memory of the abduction of his sister, will have to face-off with the cunning serial killer who took her away.

Here's another synopsis:

Guilt ridden FBI agent Tony Cruz is obsessed with finding his missing sister and catching the psychopath who murdered his mother. His childhood trauma developed into nyctophobia, an irrational fear of the dark, a condition he overcame over the years… or so he thought… Armed with the relentless purpose of catching the killer and undying hope of finding his sister, Tony descends into an underworld of sex traffickers and death, where a demon from his past awaits…

Also in the cast are Julie Gonzalo, Ireland Baldwin, Ava Locklear, Glenn Morshower, Tokala Black Elk, Jon Lindstrom, Trisha Rae Stahl, Rebekah Kennedy, Jaime Gallagher, Bella Shaw, Rob Evors, Monte Markham, Beverly Todd, Duane Whitaker, and Bonnie Hellman. Hellman will always have a special place in my heart for playing the banana-eating hitchhiker who gets killed by Jason Voorhees in Friday the 13th: The Final Chapter.

Amy Williams produced A Dark Foe with father and daughter Cardenas, who have formed their own production company called Path of Thorns Entertainment that is exclusively dedicated to producing horror and thriller movies. There's an admirable business plan if I've ever heard one. I'll be doing my part to support their endeavor by watching A Dark Foe when it's released next month.

The 2019 trailer can be seen below, along with the film's poster. Take a look and see if A Dark Foe is a movie you'd like to watch this summer.
