A long time fan of the George A. Romero / Stephen King anthology films Creepshow (watch it HERE) and Creepshow 2 (watch that one HERE), I'm totally on board for every bit of new Creepshow that the Shudder streaming service and creative supervisor Greg Nicotero want to bring us. Last month, it was announced that A Creepshow Holiday Special will be available to watch on Shudder as of December 18th, and I was guaranteed to watch it already… But after watching the trailer embedded above, I'm even more excited to check out this Holiday Special.
Starring Anna Camp and Adam Pally, A Creepshow Holiday Special tells a two-part story, Shapeshifters Anonymous Parts 1 and 2. It was written and directed by Greg Nicotero, based on a short story by J.A. Konrath. The synopsis:
Fearing he is a murderer, an anxious man searches for answers for his "unique condition" from an unusual support group.
Nicotero and Shudder's Craig Engler had said Shapeshifters Anonymous was Christmas themed, but I wouldn't have imagined just how Christmasy it actually is. This thing is going to bring us the sight of were-creatures battling Santa Claus and an army of identically dressed helpers! The trailer did its job, because I am now officially hyped.
A Creepshow Holiday Special was produced by the Cartel with Monster Agency Productions, Taurus Entertainment, and Striker Entertainment. Nicotero serves as executive producer alongside Stan Spry, Jeff Holland, Eric Woods, Brian Witten, Robert Dudelson, James Dudelson, Jordan Kizwani, and Russell Binder. Geoff Silverman, Anthony Fankhauser, Julia Hobgood, and Marc Mostman are co-executive producers, and Mitchell Galin is a producer.
