People can do some awful things to each other, and one of the most deeply disturbing concepts to me is the idea of the "thrill kill", the murder of random victims simply because the perpetrator has the desire to know what it's like to kill someone. The film CAPTURE KILL RELEASE is about a situation like that, and I find the trailer, which can be seen below, to be very unnerving.
Directed by Nick McAnulty and Brian Allen Stewart from a script by McAnulty, the movie focuses on
a couple as they plot to murder a random stranger just for the thrill of it, but things turn ugly when one of them decides not to go through with it.
Jennifer Fraser, Farhang Ghajar, Jon Gates, Rich Piatkowski, and Christina Schimmel star.
CAPTURE KILL RELEASE is currently making the festival rounds and winning awards, including Best Horror Feature at Shriekfest and Best Feature, Best Actor, and Best Actress at HorrorQuest. Just going by the trailer, I'm not surprised that it would be worthy of such rewards. It's so effective at troubling me in under 2 minutes, I can only imagine how much sitting through this "romantic bloodbath" in its entirety would mess with my emotions.
