Kim Basinger, though in the midst of a nuclear custody battle with Alec Baldwin, still finds time to squeeze in a flick here and there. Most recently, she’s agreed to star alongside Charlize Theron in the drama THE BURNING PLAIN, the directorial debut of the unquestionably contemporary master of dissecting storylines that ultimately converge, Guillermo Arriaga. Based on his own script, the story of course follows two storylines, one in the past and one in the present, that naturally converge in an orgasmic explosion of dramatic bliss. Basinger plays Theron’s mother in the film so the storyline in the past centers on Basinger with a young Theron and the storyline in the present centers on a now grown-up Theron hashing out childhood issues with her mom. Production begins in early November in New Mexico. Basinger can next be seen in the indie drama WHILE SHE WAS OUT and will soon be shooting THE INFORMERS with Billy Bob Thornton.
