Bloodshot, starring Vin Diesel, gets a digital release next week

Following the lead of Universal, who will be making their recent theatrical releases THE INVISIBLE MAN and THE HUNT available for On Demand rental now that theatres are closed, Sony Pictures has announced that they will be giving the Vin Diesel action vehicle BLOODSHOT a digital release on March 24th, just one week after its opening weekend.

BLOODSHOT will be available for digital purchase for $19.99 in the U.S. through all leading retailers. This is a different approach than Universal is taking, as they're only offering their films as 48 hour rentals. International digital sale dates for BLOODSHOT are still being decided.

Based on the Valiant comic book, BLOODSHOT stars Diesel as 

Ray Garrison, a soldier recently killed in action and brought back to life as the superhero Bloodshot by the RST corporation. Now filled with an army of nanotechnology in his veins, he's an unstoppable force – stronger than ever and able to heal instantly. But in controlling his body, the company has sway over his mind and memories, too. Now, Ray doesn't know what's real and what's not – but he's on a mission to find out.

The film was directed by David S.F. Wilson from a screenplay by Eric Heisserer and Jeff Wadlow.

Diesel's co-stars include Guy Pearce, Eiza Gonzalez, Toby Kebbell, Sam Heughan, Talulah Riley, Alex Hernandez, and Lamorne Morris.
