Kids are on the run in the post-apocalyptic Girl With No Mouth trailer

Last Updated on July 30, 2021

A trailer has been released for the Turkish thriller GIRL WITH NO MOUTH, a film with the tagline on its poster that says, "a grim post-apocalyptic adventure for the whole family!" Huh. Anyway, here's the official synopsis:

In a war-torn post-apocalyptic region, a bunch of kids, who suffer from deformed limbs due to a toxic explosion, embark on an adventure.

GIRL WITH NO MOUTH comes from Turkish horror director Can Evrenol (2015's BASKIN), and judging by the trailer, it looks like it's being told from the perspective of The Lost Tribe from MAX MAX: BEYOND THUNDERDOME, but…you know, good. It looks atmospheric, emotional, and even whimsical without being overly forced or saccharine. It seems like it will retain the true danger and horror of a post-apocalyptic world, rather than sugar-coat it because the cast is mainly children. Also, that tagline is still a helluva doozy.

The film was first screened at the Istanbul Independent Film Festival in 2019, then got a wide release in Turkey in early 2020, though no North American release has been revealed as of yet. However, hopefully it will come here soon enough!

But what do you guys think? Sound off below!
